Xtend Elements are extremely efficient and a smaller size element can be used to obtain the same temperature and volume of hot water in the same time as a larger resistive element.
It is essential that the thermostat is set to at least 10 degrees less than it was set to with a standard resistive element.
If a standard element was set to 60 degrees then set the Xtend Element to 50 degrees.
The Xtend Element, by design, will return the same average temperature even though the thermostat is set lower.
